Cari Zalloni

Cari Zalloni (1937-2012) was born in Athens, Greece to a Greek-Italian father and Austrian mother and grew up in Austria after his father's death. 

He studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna and initially designed furniture in in Siena, Italy until moving to Germany in 1962 to design decorative glassware and ceramics.  There he his CAZAL eyewear brand in 1975 with entrepreneur Günter Böttcher.  CAZAL's designs have been referred to as "distinctive, fashion-forward frames.  Cari Zalloni basically defined eyewear design from the 80s on.  It is down to his talent and passion for eyewear that today CAZAL is a successful eyewear brand loved by wearers of glasses the world over.
